DAVE ANDERSON
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Dave is the Director of Business Development at VIP Rail, and leads marketing, customer relationships, and new customer growth for all Canada operations. Dave specializes in working with customers to identify supply chain challenges and finding ways to leverage VIP Rail’s unique assets and service to drive logistics efficiencies and to develop new supply chain solutions. Dave has over 25 years of experience in developing and growing business relationships and providing a high level of customer service. Prior to VIP Rail, Dave was a senior Business Development Manager with Sun Media. Following, Dave spent time in technical recruiting in Business Development specializing in recruiting executives in the Petrochemical Industry. Dave is also serving as a Commissioned Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and has worked in senior positions at the unit, regional and national levels. Dave has been awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of meritorious service and the Canadian Forces Decoration CD2 service medal. Dave is also the Commanding Officer of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in Sarnia. In his younger years as Naval Cadet, Dave received the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award from HHR Prince Philip. Dave attended the University Training Division at CFB Esquimalt BC and was successful in attaining his Tender Command Endorsement.

IAN GREENSHIELDS
DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & SPECIAL PROJECTS

Ian is the Director of Planning and Special Projects for all of VIP Rail’s Canada operations. Ian has over 35 years of experience in managing the planning, design, and construction of development projects within the transportation, petrochemical, and industrial / commercial real estate industries. At VIP Rail, Ian leads the planning, development, and execution of expanding VIP Rail’s infrastructure critical for the company’s growth. This ranges from expanding VIP Rail’s railcar storage yards, procuring or constructing custom transload equipment, or executing warehouse renovations, to working with environmental and municipal agencies to ensure compliance and permit approvals. Prior to VIP Rail, Ian was central to the development and construction of five adult retirement communities in Southwestern Ontario. Previously, Ian led the design and construction of truck/trailer fuel transfer stations and delivery systems for a propane delivery business serving the greater Sarnia region.

STEVE PERISCHETTI
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Steve is the Director of Finance for all of VIP Rail’s Canada operations. Steve is a Chartered Professional Accountant responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of finance activities at VIP Rail. Prior to joining VIP Rail in 2019, Steve worked as a controller at a non-profit business accelerator focused on developing and commercializing sustainable technologies within Canada. During this time Steve managed over $20M in projects as well as assisted in closing multiple equity investments that have since commercialized. Steve began his career working at a professional accounting firm where he worked on audit engagements, financial statement preparation, and compliance work for many corporations and individuals.

NICOLE WEBER
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES & CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Nicole is the Director of Human Resources & Customer Relations for all of VIP Rail’s Canada operations. She joined the company in 2014. Nicole is responsible for managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management. She has been promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture for over 20 years. She has used her strong human resources background and a blend of managerial experience to affect positive change in the organization. Effectively balancing big picture thinking and strategic planning with hands-on execution has allowed her to combine decisiveness, strong business acumen and formal education to achieve objectives. Nicole has a diploma in Executive Administration, Strategic Human Resource Planning, as well as courses and seminars in HR/Management.

Peter is the Director of Operations at VIP Rail Alberta Midland, leading the company’s safety, customer service, and overall business performance. He brings extensive rail operating experience, including over 30 years with the Canadian Pacific Railway as a senior operating officer. As a transformational leader with foresight, imagination, and respect, he has an impressive history of driving a total safety culture, providing exceptional customer service, surpassing ambitious business goals, and delivering strong, quality outputs. He has a consistent record of positioning all that work with him for success, driving safety, growth, developing cohesive partnerships, and building highly accomplished teams that demonstrate a dedication to Operations Excellence. Bolstered by strong interpersonal skills, communication, and creating vision, Peter is always ready to hit the ground running to serve customers and solve problems. Demonstrating both an entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial spirit, Peter has the ability to quickly identify and actualize valuable ideas, with shrewd strategies that maximize organizational capabilities, operations, service offerings, and staff performance. BRENT CHEEK,
SUPERINTENDENT
VIP RAIL ALBERTA MIDLAND

Brent is the Superintendent of VIP Rail Alberta Midland, leading the rail operations, site management, and safety culture for the company. Brent started his railway career in Red Deer, Alberta in July 1978 as a Track Maintainer for Canadian National Railway. Over his tenure with Canadian National, he worked as a Track & Extra Gang Foreman, Assistant Track Supervisor, Engineering Training Instructor and Engineering Work Force Coordinator in the Edmonton Rail Traffic Control Centre. In October 1996 he left Canadian National for RaiLink Ltd. as Manager of Network Expansion managing the start up of the Engineering organization for RaiLink operations in Alberta and Ontario. He held various roles such as the Director – Engineering Standards & Training, and Project Superintendent on several complex projects across Western Canada. In 2016 Brent joined Alberta Midland as Project Superintendent during the construction phase. Brent has been critical to the construction, start-up, growth, customer service, and overall safety culture and success of Alberta Midland.

DAN JOHNSON

Dan is the Director of Operations at VIP Rail Sarnia and VIP Rail Corunna. In this role, he leads the operating team and is responsible for driving the company’s total safety culture and delivering on VIP Rail’s commitment to customer service and operational excellence. Dan joined VIP Rail in 2009. Leveraging his unique technical skill set and proficiency in operating heavy equipment with certifications in warehousing, AZ trucking, locomotives as well as track maintenance and inspection, Dan has been crucial to the company’s development and rapid growth. Prior to VIP Rail, Dan worked at Ross Steel Fabrication as a Supervisor and Class 1 fabricator/ welder where he earned his Red Seal Journeyman Certificate. At VIP Rail, Dan has designed and built several of the company’s current operations such as mobile transloading platforms, railcar cleaning infrastructure, steaming racks, and much more. If a customer has a logistics problem, Dan has a unique ability to create a solution. Dan also leads developing written process procedures which have been paramount to VIP Rail’s outstanding safety record. Given his vast technical expertise, Dan also supports onboarding new transloading startups and growth projects across all Alpenglow Rail’s portfolio companies.

JORDAN BUTLER
MANAGER OF HSSE

Jordan is the Manager of HSSE for VIP Rail Sarnia & VIP Rail Corunna. As the Health and Safety Manager, Jordan is dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all employees within the organization. Jordan has developed a deep understanding of workplace hazards and risks and is committed to developing and implementing effective strategies to mitigate them. His role involves conducting regular risk assessments, implementing safety policies and procedures, and providing training and guidance to employees on how to maintain a safe work environment. He is also responsible for investigating accidents and incidents, identifying the root cause, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Jordan is passionate about promoting a safety culture within the workplace and believes that everyone has a role to play in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. He is always looking for ways to improve safety practices and procedures and is committed to staying up to date with the latest industry developments and best practices. Jordan has stated that his overall goal as a Health and Safety Manager is to ensure that all employees feel safe and supported in their work environment, and to create a workplace culture that prioritizes safety above all else. Jordan joined VIP Rail in February 2018. Since that time, he has held several positions of increased responsibility, including Transloader, AZ Truck Driver, and Trucking scheduler.

JEFF BEATSON

Jeff is the Manager of Operations for VIP Rail Sarnia and VIP Rail Corunna. Jeff leads and organizes the operations of the two sites, including driving safety, managing and training the operating team, delivering service to customers, upholding site maintenance, and executing on the review and approval of data collection between operations and the administration departments. Jeff joined VIP Rail in 2014 and has held several roles of increased responsibility. He spent his first four years with the company learning every aspect of the company’s service offering, including rail, transloading and railcar cleaning. This hands-on experience, and Jeff’s quick learning and attention to detail coupled with a strong work ethic set him apart and has enabled Jeff to grow into a leader for the company. Jeff has a strong belief in maintaining a culture of safe working practices through communication, education, and training. This philosophy is underpinned by Jeff’s distinguished background as a first responder spending several years prior to VIP Rail in Western Canada as a paramedic and firefighter. Prior to this, Jeff worked as the Site Supervisor overseeing the construction and maintenance of several hundred homes.

Ryan is the Manager of Rail for VIP Rail Sarnia and VIP Rail Corunna and has been with the company for over 15 years. Ryan started at VIP rail as part of the rail crew and quickly moved into a management position given his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to safety and customer service. He has helped his crew win the CN safe handling award every year since 2019. Ryan has a proven track record of building solid working relationships with customers and suppliers. Ryan utilizes his skills and experience to drive improvements to yard management, switching, and overall service to customers. Ryan has also volunteered for the local junior B hockey and lacrosse team for over 20 years helping with fundraising and other game day activities.

Rich is a Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Alpenglow Rail. Rich has over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, developing and growing businesses, and executing large scale transactions. Rich began his career in commercial real-estate, and prior to Alpenglow, spent 10 years as Senior Vice President of OmniTRAX / The Broe Group, one of the nation’s largest shortline railroad, real estate and oil & gas holding companies. At OmniTRAX, Rich located many new customer facilities to its railroads and industrial parks including Anheuser Busch, Cargill, Halliburton, Vestas, and many others. Rich has managed businesses and assets with over $1 billion in value, purchased and sold over $500 million in transportation and real estate businesses, and developed nearly 10,000 acres of land. Rich received a Bachelor’s degree in business finance, with emphasis in real estate from San Diego State University.

Darcy is a partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Alpenglow Rail. Darcy has over 25 years’ experience and a proven track record in improving operations, safety and bottom line performance for leading shortline rail companies. Prior to joining Alpenglow, Darcy was President and COO of OmniTRAX / The Broe Group managing 2,500 miles of track, 17 shortline railroads, four switching operations, two port facilities, and two intermodal concessions. Before OmniTRAX, Darcy spent over ten years with BC Rail where he developed and implemented the company’s first system wide integrated operating plan which drove significant profitability improvement leading to its $1 billion sale to CN in 2004. Darcy received his MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia.

Henning spent 12 years in Deutsche Bank’s M&A group focused on rail, terminals, ports, and aviation. Following, Henning ran corporate development for OmniTRAX, responsible for sourcing and executing deals in the rail, terminals, ports and related transportation spaces. Henning received his MA (Hons) in International Business from the University of Edinburgh.

Josh started his career in wealth management, providing asset management and financial planning to high net worth individuals and businesses. Josh received his Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado.
